2024 Tax Due Dates for the 2023 Tax Year

Looking for the US tax deadlines for the 2023 tax season (filed in 2024)?

Look no further, we’ve got a full overview of the tax deadlines for the upcoming year.

When do US taxes need to be filed from New Zealand?

Monday 17th June 2024. Taxpayers living overseas are entitled to a two month automatic extension of time to file, from 15th April 2024, to 15th June. You must file your US tax return by this date, or alternatively obtain an extension of time to file. At The US Tax Team, we file all extensions for our clients on a complimentary basis.

Looking for a more detailed overview of the filing deadlines?

  • 16th January 2024 - 4th quarter 2023 estimated tax payment due. If you’re required to pay estimated tax (your tax professional will advise you of this), the final payment for 2023 must be made by 16th January 2024.
